We brought Baby Jezebelle to a restaurant in a foreign land. While we were busy picking up our buffet breakfast, bacteria came and tried to attack Jezebelle.

And now, the serious part — How to increase our child’s immune system? We have practice this since day 1 and below we have compiled a list that we practice: -

7 Simple Ways to Increase Child’s Immune System

Number 1

Offer Plenty of Water

Drinking water is important for adults and children alike. By making sure our child drinks plenty of water, not only it boosts her immune system by creating more frequent bowel movement (meaning needs to change her nappy more frequent too!), but it also helps to keep her hydrated, which is important in a tropical country like Malaysia.

Number 2

Offer Plenty of Fruits & Vegetables

Besides water, we also provides our child plenty of fruits and vegetables. Occasionally, we feed our child with kiwi fruits, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and apples, and include tomatoes, broccoli, carrots in her porridges and rice. Fruits and veges are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants and these help to boost her immunity.

Number 3

Promote Laughter

Laughter is the best medicine and is good for health. We always try to make her laugh by making funny faces and by doing many other gestures even in the public! It may make us look silly, but the most important thing is our child is happy at all times. And oh, Jezebelle has plenty of facial expressions too. We have to admit, her expressions made us laugh and keep us happy in return!

Number 4

Encourage Exercising, Playing & Learning

Exercise is also important as it helps to make her immune system works more efficiently. Occasionally, we take her out to the park and sometimes for a sunbath as vitamin D from the sun is vital too. We also spend a lot time playing with her.

Number 5

Boost Sleep Time

Sleeping is just as vital as it helps to make our child’s immune system to function properly. We make sure she gets at least 11 to 13 hours of sleep daily including 1-3 hours of naps during the day.

Number 6

Combine Breastfeeding & Formula

While breastfeeding is the best nutritional choice for many, the commitment to breastfeed for a year is not realistic and therefore, it is utmost important to select a good formula for your child. We started giving our child Frisolac Gold formula milk after 3 months of breastfeeding.

Number 7

Get Immunizations/Vaccinations

Now, the most important part in boosting immunization is by getting immunizations or vaccinations for our child by following the immunization schedule to ensure she is well-protected against diseases. Younger children are quite prone to viruses and it is important to get vaccinated.
